2019

On the occasion of the new academic year, DNC offers many valuable rewards to encourage and motivate students on their educational journey. Among these, over 5 billion VND in scholarships will be awarded to students with outstanding and excellent entrance exam scores in 2019; more than 300 million VND will be awarded to students who achieve excellent results in their courses; rewards will be given to the two top incoming freshmen, along with scholarships of 7 million VND each, and 38 scholarships (2.5 million VND each) will be awarded to students who perform well academically and are in difficult circumstances.

2020

On the occasion of the new academic year's opening ceremony, DNC awarded scholarships to new students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disasters in the Mekong Delta region, with a total amount of over 5 billion VND. The university also rewarded the two top incoming freshmen of the 8th intake, 85 students from the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th intakes with excellent academic results, and 45 students with good academic performance and difficult circumstances, with a total amount of over 300 million VND.

2021

Politburo Member - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Politburo Member - Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, along with a delegation from the Can Tho City Party Committee and People's Committee, visited and worked at Nam Can Tho University.

Joining efforts in the fight against Covid-19, Nam Can Tho University donated Covid-19 testing kits worth 500 million VND to Can Tho City.

On the afternoon of July 14th, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nam Can Tho University, handed over a symbolic board representing the donation of Covid-19 testing kits worth 500 million VND to a representative of the People's Committee of Can Tho City.

2022

Nam Can Tho University awarded scholarships to 250 students in difficult circumstances (2 million VND each). Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung (a native of Dai Hong, Dai Loc) - Chairman of the Board of Nam Can Tho University, additionally donated 10 scholarships (1 million VND each) to students in particularly difficult situations. The total value of the scholarships is 510 million VND. (This event took place on September 6th when he returned to Quang Nam to present the scholarships.)

The 2022 summer youth volunteer campaign kicked off with initial activities such as visiting, cleaning, and presenting gifts including rice, porridge, instant noodles, and other essential items to organizations caring for the elderly living alone, orphans, and disabled children. Accordingly, in this first journey, the Economics Faculty's delegation will donate 1,000 kg of rice, 500 boxes of instant noodles, and 500 boxes of porridge to the children and elderly living alone.

2023

In the 2023 enrollment season, Nam Can Tho University awarded over 12.5 billion VND in scholarships to new students with excellent admission scores. In addition, the university allocated over 1 billion VND to reward students from the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th intakes who have shown effort and academic excellence. From 2020 to September 2023, the university also contributed 30.5 billion VND to social charity work, assisting students in difficult circumstances in Can Tho City and other provinces.

On April 27, 2023, at the E2 auditorium, Nam Can Tho University organized a Ceremony to receive the Certificate of Commendation from the Prime Minister. The collective of the university and 2 individuals with outstanding achievements were honored to receive the Certificate of Commendation from the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This marks a milestone recognizing the positive contributions of Nam Can Tho University in scientific research and human resource training for Can Tho City in particular and the provinces in the Mekong Delta region in general, contributing to the socialist construction and defense of the Fatherland.

On the eve of the Miss Nam Can Tho University final, which took place on May 10th, the Youth Union - Student Union of Nam Can Tho University, in collaboration with the Top 25 outstanding contestants, visited and presented gifts to the Social Work Center and the School for Disabled Children in Can Tho City, as well as the center for elderly people without shelter.

On July 6th, Nam Can Tho University held the launch ceremony for the 2023 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign with over 400 students and youth union members volunteering to participate in various fronts from remote border areas to windy coastal regions and disadvantaged villages such as Can Tho City, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, and An Giang. They will be involved in numerous meaningful projects and tasks.

On the morning of July 22nd, 2023, the Kiên Giang Youth Union Mobilization Committee, in collaboration with the Economics Faculty Student Union of Nam Can Tho University, joined hands in the first day's activities of the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign in Kiên Giang province. The student volunteers undertook the task of beautifying the school environment for the children at Thuận Hoà 1 Primary School in An Minh district. Additionally, in Tân Thạnh commune, An Minh district, the students wholeheartedly supported the local youth union in implementing a nursery garden project and planting flowers to enhance the environmental landscape. They also assisted in implementing the VNID installation for coastal households.

In the afternoon of the same day, the student volunteers organized a summer activity day for children, which included activities such as training on water safety skills, interactive games, and distributing 30 gifts, each worth 300,000 VND, to students in difficult circumstances. Additionally, they distributed 80 gifts for Children's Day to ensure that the children have a meaningful and enjoyable summer.

On August 10th, 2023, in order to implement the 2023 work plan of Can Tho City and to understand and grasp the real situation of higher education, as well as to listen to the opinions of the leaders of universities, Comrade Nguyen Van Hieu - Member of the Party Central Committee's Executive Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, along with the working delegation, visited and worked at Nam Can Tho University.

This summer, the 2023 Youth Volunteer Campaign - Green Summer Campaign has officially kicked off at Nam Can Tho University! One of the highlighted activities is the tree planting campaign "for a greener Earth", which has been widely implemented across all fronts. A total of 4,800 trees have been planted in the first steps on the soil of 8 important fronts: Kiên Giang, Hậu Giang, An Giang, Cà Mau, Bến Tre, Nhơn Ái - Phong Điền, Mỹ Khánh - Phong Điền, Đồng Tháp. With the unanimous support of the youth union members, students, and union members of Nam Can Tho University, as well as the local soldiers, the campaign aims to protect the environment and create a green and refreshing space. The total budget for the activities amounts to 20,000,000 VND, with the hard work of our soldiers for our environment and the journey towards building a greener planet.

Participating in the cleanup and sanitation work at the Martyrs Cemetery in Can Tho City on the occasion of the 76th Anniversary of Martyrs and Veterans Day.
