The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management (hereinafter referred to as the Faculty of Tourism) was established under Decision No. 85/QĐ-CTHĐT-ĐHNCT dated October 14, 2020, issued by the Chairman of the University Council of Can Tho University of Technology. Formerly known as the Department of Tourism and Travel Services Management under the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty has continuously developed in both scale and quality of education since its inception. Currently, the Faculty manages three undergraduate programs (Tourism and Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Restaurant Management and Gastronomy), And one graduate program (Master's in Tourism and Hospitality Management).
Training Focus and Strategic Role
The Faculty cooperates with the Training Management Department in teaching, organizing scientific seminars, publishing domestic and foreign articles, compiling books, textbooks, lectures and improving the qualifications of lecturers and staff. The Faculty has completed the quality assessment of the training program in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Hotel Management. At the same time, it received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, the unit has achieved achievements in the school year 2022-2023, 2023-2024.
In addition to training, the Faculty has actively participated in admissions consulting, supporting students through the role of head lecturer and organizing extracurricular activities, field tour programs, helping students develop soft skills and professional skills.
In the next phase, the Faculty of Tourism will continue to improve the training programs of the Faculty, develop the teaching staff, improve teaching methods to improve training quality, strengthen cooperation with businesses to create conditions for students to access reality, combine learning with practice, help students develop professional skills, meet the development requirements of the Tourism and Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Restaurant Management and Gastronomy in the current period of globalization, digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
The Faculty of Tourism consists of two academic departments: Department of Tourism and Travel; Department of Hotel and Restaurant. In addition, it includes one Faculty Office staffed by an academic assistant.
