The Office of Academic Affairs at Nam Can Tho University was established under Decision No. 15/QĐ-CTHĐQT-ĐHNCT on June 12, 2013, issued by the Chairman of the Board. Its predecessor was the Training Department. The main function of the Department is to assist the Board of Directors and the Rectorate in orienting and developing university training activities, organizing their implementation, and supervising the entire teaching and learning process across all types of undergraduate training at the University.
The Department performs the function of advising the University Council and the Rectorate on the management and development of training programs at various levels (postgraduate, undergraduate), types (full-time, transfer), part-time, distance learning, guided self-study, etc., and fields of study. It is responsible for organizing, managing, and overseeing the implementation of training programs; ensuring quality and student affairs within its designated authority; and participating in career counseling and admissions for various levels, fields, and education systems, as well as other tasks assigned directly by the University Council and the Rectorate.
Based on the functions of the Office of Academic Affairs, the leadership of the unit has established specific goals and tasks for the department.

The Office of Academic Affairs currently consists of 07 personnel, including 1 Acting Head of the Department, 03 Deputy Heads of Office, and 5 specialists.
Over the past 10 years of establishment and development, the Department has served as an advisory unit in the construction of regulations, rules, and management documents. Together with the faculties and other departments, it has closely coordinated in training, enrollment, ensuring the quality of education, and other tasks as assigned and directed by the University Council and the Rectorate. For several consecutive years, the Department of Academic Affairs has been recognized as an excellent labor collective and an advanced labor collective. Individuals have also been acknowledged for their outstanding achievements in fulfilling their duties.
Along with the continuous development of society, the leadership and staff of the Office of Academic Affairs have consistently fulfilled their assigned duties over the past years. At the same time, they have been formulating key objectives for the coming years.
These objectives include: continuing to effectively manage academic training; efficiently applying software tools and information technology in management and training tasks; strengthening and completing the departmental personnel structure; collaborating with other university units to launch new academic programs that meet societal needs; working with academic faculties to develop, revise, and accredit training programs in line with practical demands; enhancing staff development in management; improving professional training capacity for departmental staff; promoting a cultured lifestyle and scientific working environment; and coordinating with other departments in student recruitment counseling, university communications, as well as participating in social and charitable activities.
