I. Introduction
The Communication Department of Nam Can Tho University was established under Decision No.
212/QĐ-CTHĐQT-ĐHNCT dated November 4, 2024, by the Chairman of the University Council. The
Communication Department was established with the mission of serving as an effective bridge between
students, the university, and businesses. It aims to enhance the quality and effectiveness of
communication campaigns, while promoting the image of the university and its students to the wider
community, society, and strategic partners both domestically and internationally.
II. Functions and Duties
1. Functions
The Communication Department advises the University Council and Board of
Directors on managing, organizing, and implementing communication activities (internal & external),
including plans, programs, annual events, and special occasions as announced by the university.
2. Duties
- Develop communication plans annually, periodically, and upon request from the
University Council and Board of Directors.
- Design and produce media videos: Monthly DNC news, school introduction clips,
45 departmental introduction clips, student activities and lifestyle videos, entertainment
or informational clips, and event-related footage.
- Post news, images, activities, greeting cards, and banners for national and
international holidays and events.
- Plan and execute livestreams and cover important events such as opening
ceremonies, graduations, seminars, conferences, and cultural/artistic exchanges.
- Coordinate with departments and faculties for student recruitment and promotion
activities.
- Collaborate with the Admissions & Career Center to regularly run livestreamed
counseling sessions on platforms like Facebook and TikTok.
- Produce a variety of content: written pieces, short vertical videos for youth
audiences, longer horizontal videos for teachers/parents, images, and promotional materials
to introduce the university.
- Provide practice spaces, personnel, and equipment for hands-on learning in
multimedia communication, public relations, etc.
- Work directly with media outlets and advertising companies to promote the
university’s brand. Build and maintain good relationships with partners such as businesses,
media outlets, high schools, alumni, and the community.
- Research and propose new communication tools to enhance student recruitment.
Update, monitor, and manage information across the university’s platforms (Website,
Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, etc.).
- Support communication for events, workshops, faculty clubs, DNC School, and
International Communication.
- Provide personnel for field operations with DNC Travel for training programs in
tourism, hospitality, IT, food tech, English, logistics, economics, etc.
- Act as a communication sponsor for university units, supporting product
introductions and event coverage.
- Develop internal communication campaigns, monitor and assess effectiveness, and
manage communication crises if needed.

- DNC Studio is assigned to photograph university events and supports
departments, affiliated businesses, clubs, and student activities. This includes meetings
and guest receptions. Post-shoot, staff handle color correction, lighting, sharpness, logo
overlay, and upload to the team drive.
- Create banners, posters, recruitment materials, livestream backgrounds, flyers,
notebooks, templates, fans, etc. Support departments with designs for conferences,
thumbnails, etc.
- Film events, seminars, and student entertainment activities for news reports
and monthly recaps. Produce promotional clips for the school, department intros, school
anniversaries, etc. Support departments with contests and produce promotional or
storytelling content.
- Edit monthly news clips, department introductions, and event highlights. Create
recruitment-focused content, partner welcome clips, annual review videos, and support
contest participation. Produce content for Facebook, Reels, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Write news updates from school events.
- Write features: research topics, conduct interviews, stay updated on trends.
- Draft news posts for web/OA from guest welcomes, collaborations, talk shows,
seminars, etc.
- Create TikTok scripts, Facebook captions, and interview questions.
- Voice talents narrate news and video clips, conveying emotion.
- MCs host live shows, requiring adaptability and audience interaction.
- They also appear in features, TikTok trends, career events, and news clips.
- Set up livestreams for auditorium events with multiple personnel and
departmental coordination. Support faculty livestreams with proper documentation. Livestream
recruitment consultations and lucky draws on Facebook and TikTok.
III. Development Orientation
In the rapidly evolving communication landscape, the Communication Department of
Nam Can Tho University (DNC) is not only the university’s “storyteller” but also a creative hub
connecting the DNC community to the outside world. The department strives to provide real-world
experiences, fostering a growth environment for students and capturing meaningful moments during
their time at DNC. The ultimate goal is to internationalize the university’s programs and
communication products.
