I. Introduction
The Vietnam Student Association at Nam Can Tho University was officially established under Decision
No. 105-QĐ/HSV dated April 4, 2018, issued by the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student
Association of Can Tho City.
II. Functions and Duties
The Vietnam Student Association at Nam Can Tho University is a subordinate
organization of the Vietnam Student Association of Can Tho City. It operates in accordance with the
regulations of the Vietnam Student Association Charter and fulfills specific tasks directed by the
Secretariat of the City Student Association, the Party Committee, the University Council, and the
University Board of Rectors. Its core functions and responsibilities include:
Uniting, encouraging, and supporting students in academic pursuits and personal development,
contributing to the overall strength of the university.
Providing education on ideals, ethics, lifestyle, and legal awareness to members and students.
Representing students' needs and aspirations; proposing relevant policies and guidelines concerning
student affairs. Organizing practical activities to improve students’ material and spiritual
well-being and safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests.
Promoting solidarity and cooperation with progressive student and youth organizations worldwide,
fostering peace, national independence, democracy, and social advancement.
III. Personnel
The Executive Committee of the Student Association currently consists of 29 members. Ms. Tô Thị Ngọc
Trầm serves as the President, with three Vice Presidents: Mr. Nguyễn Trí Đức, Ms. Phạm Vi Khanh, and
Mr. Lưu Thành Nhân.
The association also encompasses provincial student sub-associations representing localities such as
Đồng Tháp, Hậu Giang, Kiên Giang, Cà Mau, Trà Vinh, An Giang, Bạc Liêu, Sóc Trăng, Cần Thơ, Bến Tre,
and Vĩnh Long.
In addition, the association operates a diverse range of academic, talent-based, and interest-based
clubs, including: Youth Club, Vovinam Martial Arts Club, English Club, Information Technology Club,
Food Technology Club, Graceful Female Student Club, Dancing Club, Music Club, Football Club,
Volleyball Club, Tennis Club, Swimming Club, Master of Ceremonies and Event Management Club,
Scientific Research Club, Startup Club, and more.
IV. Activities
Organizational Support and Achievements
- Over the years, the Student Association has received strong guidance and
support from the Party Committee, University Council, and Board of Rectors; maintained its
political alignment with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; and closely collaborated
with various university departments, faculties, and other internal organizations. Under the
direction of the Can Tho City Student Association and the Central Committee of the Vietnam
Student Association, the Association has developed a high-performing, cohesive, and
innovative leadership team. This, combined with the enthusiastic participation of the
student body, has led to the rapid growth and recognition of student movements within and
beyond the university.
- The Executive Committee of the Association has been honored with awards from
the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association and the Can Tho City Student
Association for its outstanding performance in student affairs and youth movements over the
years.
“Five-Good Student” Movement
- Regarding the "Five-Good Student" movement: This initiative has been widely
implemented and has become a prestigious benchmark for students to aspire toward. Nam Can
Tho University has led Can Tho City for five consecutive years in the number of students
achieving this title. In 2023, the university ranked first in the Mekong Delta region for
students receiving the Central-level “Five-Good Student” title, with 18 honorees. In 2024,
it again topped the region with 39 students recognized at the national level.

V. Development Orientation
Theme: “DNC Youth - Creative, Holistic, Progressive, and Globally Integrated”
- Effectively implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 of the
Politburo on “Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and
style,” and the Action Program No. 33-CTr/TWĐTN-BTG dated October 18, 2015 of the Central
Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on executing Directive No. 42-CT/TW of
the Party Central Secretariat regarding “Strengthening the Party’s leadership in educating
revolutionary ideals, ethics, and cultural lifestyles for the young generation in the
2015-2030 period.”
- Organize impactful activities that foster creativity among members and
students; enhance volunteer initiatives, career guidance and counseling programs for high
school students; and support student startup and entrepreneurship efforts.
- Continue to expand and widely promote the “Five-Good Student” movement among
members and students in the coming years.
- Establish additional regional student sub-associations and academic,
talent-based, and hobby-based clubs to provide diverse platforms for student development,
engagement, and networking.
- Organize a wide range of scientific research activities to encourage and
nurture research capabilities among students.
