DNC – With a vision to elevate the standards of medical education and promote international collaboration, the delegation from Nam Can Tho University embarked on an important visit and working session at the Midwestern University of Medicine on November 17, 2024.
Midwestern University of Medicine, a prestigious university at the forefront of medical education in the United States, is renowned for its world-class training programs and state-of-the-art learning environment. This University is regarded as a trailblazer in medical academia and holds a distinguished place among the top medical schools in Arizona.
During this visit, the delegation was introduced to a modern, professional learning environment. Notably, the presence of the university leadership paved the way for numerous new collaboration opportunities, enabling Nam Can Tho University to gain valuable insights and adopt innovative teaching methods to enhance its own training programs.
Leading the delegation was Dr. Lawyer Nguyen Tien Dung, Chairman of the School Council at Nam Can Tho University and Chairman of Nam Can Tho University Hospital. He was accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Phillip Tran, Head of the International Medical Department; Associate Professor Hoang Nguyen, Academic Director of the International Medical Department; Ms. Do Bach Tuyet; and Mr. Nguyen Tri Dat, both members of the School Council.
In addition to exploring the training model and facilities, the delegation engaged in discussions on potential collaborations in research, student exchange programs, and curriculum development.
During the visit, the delegation met with Associate Professor Dr. Lori Kemper, Dean of the Midwestern University of Medicine. Dean Kemper provided an overview of the university, which holds the distinction of being the first medical school in Arizona and is renowned for its exceptional teaching quality. The delegation also toured the university’s cutting-edge facilities, dedicated to both teaching and research in the medical field, while gaining insights into advanced teaching methodologies shaping modern medical education.
