Recently, Can Tho City organized many meaningful activities to celebrate the nation's major holidays. Within the framework of the events, the contestants of the Miss DNC 2025 contest had the opportunity to visit Hung Temple in Can Tho City, which marks the honor of the Hung Kings - those who built the country and protected the territory. This place preserves many precious artifacts of the nation, such as bronze drums, labor tools of ancient Vietnamese people, Dong Son cultural jewelry, etc. All are exquisitely crafted, imbued with national historical and cultural values. The contestants not only admired these artifacts but also had the opportunity to experience and feel more deeply about the traditions and origins of the nation, thereby expressing gratitude to the generations of ancestors who contributed to building and protecting the country.
Ms. Dhanalakshmi Gomathi Shanmugasundara (International Student), Miss DNC 2025 contestant, shared: “This is the first time I have visited the Hung Kings Temple and admired the beautiful ancient bronze drums and ancient Vietnamese utensils. Through that, I have a better understanding of Vietnamese culture and history, especially the story of the Hung Kings. When I return to my homeland, I will tell my family and friends about this beautiful country of Vietnam. ”
In addition, the contestants also had the opportunity to visit and experience the 2025 Southern Traditional Cake Festival, where countless exciting activities took place. At the exhibition areas, talented artisans demonstrated their skillful cake-making skills, bringing contestants traditional cakes with rich flavors of their homeland. Not only did they get to admire, the contestants also had the opportunity to taste and learn about the processing process as well as the ingredients that make up these special cakes. In particular, one of the highlights of this year's festival was the giant pancake-making performance with a filling of 100 lobsters, attracting everyone's attention. The contestants were extremely excited to enjoy the giant pancake, which was many times larger than normal cakes.
Through these activities, the contestants of the Miss DNC 2025 contest not only have the opportunity to learn and experience but also gain a better understanding of the ethnic origins and culture of the South.
