DNC - On March 17 and 18, 2025, Nam Can Tho University proudly hosted its first-ever Indian Film Festival, sponsored by the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City. Celebrating the cinematic traditions of Bollywood and Tollywood, the festival attracted students, faculty, and film enthusiasts from across the local community, showcasing vibrant storytelling and rich cultural experiences.
The university was honored to welcome special guests, including Dr. Vipra Pandey, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, alongside other notable delegates from the Indian Consulate. Their attendance highlighted the strong cultural ties and growing friendship between Vietnam and India. The festival, offered free to the public, quickly filled Hippocrates Hall, creating a lively atmosphere filled with excitement, engagement, and cultural appreciation throughout the two-day event.

The festival commenced with the captivating film "You Only Live Once", an emotional journey highlighting themes of friendship, love, and self-discovery through transformative travel experiences. Audiences connected deeply with its heartfelt message, reflecting on life's meaningful relationships, the importance of personal growth, and the universal values that bind us together.
On the second day, the festival continued with the thrilling blockbuster "RRR – Roar of Freedom." Known for its dramatic storytelling, powerful action sequences, and emotional depth, the film profoundly impacted viewers with its vivid portrayal of courage, friendship, and sacrifice. The film's dramatic intensity and historical depth left lasting impressions on attendees.
In addition to film screenings, the festival featured vibrant cultural performances, including traditional dances and music, further immersing the audience in India’s rich heritage. Films were shown with Vietnamese subtitles, allowing deeper understanding and engagement. Post-screening discussions encouraged thoughtful dialogue and reflection, enabling students to enhance critical thinking skills. Overall, the festival successfully promoted cultural understanding, creativity, and educational collaboration between Vietnam and India, opening new possibilities for future partnerships.
