DNC - On April 25th, the seminar “Cooperation in training and researching on electrical and electronic semiconductor technology” took place at Nam Can Tho University (NCTU)
Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of NCTU stated that the seminar “Cooperation in training and researching on electrical and electronic semiconductor technology in the smart era” was held to discuss and share experiences, training sources, facilities, practice linkage, cooperation in training and researching between universities and entrepreneurs, and then encourage training high-quality human resources for the electrical and electronic semiconductor technology in Vietnam.”
Recently, DNC founded Faculty of Information Technology, Software Development and Application Center to conduct the mission of training in specialized fields. According to the plan, in 2024-2025, the university will develop programs and cooperate with partners to officially open the training major of electrical and electronic semiconductor technology by 2025.

The seminar was attended by 8 speakers who are leading researchers, scientists and experts from institutes, universities, educational institutions, companies and enterprises in the field of modern technology. The reports concentrated on issues including cooperation in training groups of electrical, electronic and semiconductor engineering technology; constructing laboratories serving for training engineers of electrical, electronic and semiconductor engineering technology; cooperation between Synopsys and NCTU in training semiconductor human resources; distance laboratory system serving the training of microchip design techniques…
Dr. Luong Vinh Quoc Doanh, senior lecturer, Head of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications (College of Engineering, Can Tho University) said: "Currently, the semiconductor industry has many opportunities for development but also challenges as well. The need from present to 2030 for about 30,000 - 50,000 engineers and graduates majoring in semiconductor and electronics technology is a big challenge. Leading human resources for training, input student human resources, finance for training, training equipment... are big problems that need to be solved".
Dr. Le Quang Dam, General Director of Marvell Technology Vietnam LLC, said that currently "Vietnam has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" in the semiconductor industry. How to grasp, utilize and promote those advantages is important. Marvell Technology Vietnam LLC has about 300 engineers working in Vietnam and is making many efforts to cooperate with domestic institutes and schools to train and develop human resources in the semiconductor industry.
How to attract students in training? How to promote creativity and the best job opportunities for those who have completed training in semiconductor, electrical, and electronics? Scholarships for female students, suggesting that the Government consider supporting to attract women to study in this industry. There should be synchronous policies to encourage human resource training for the semiconductor, electrical, and electronic industries... are practical suggestions.
