During the investment and development of the university-Business model
the establishment of Nam Can Tho University Medical Center in 2022, with a capacity of 200 beds and 29 departments and functional units, has been a significant milestone for health sciences students. It serves as a practical training ground for students, particularly those in the medical field. To meet the increasing demand for training, DNC has partnered with several prestigious hospitals in the region, including Hue Central General Hospital, Can Tho Central General Hospital, and Saigon Dental Hospital, providing students with ample opportunities to practice and hone their skills.
DNC offers eight medical majors, two pharmacy majors, and one dentistry major at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Health sciences students can simultaneously study and practice at Nam Can Tho University Hospital and the university's Institute for Medicinal Plant Research and Development. In the first quarter of 2025, the university plans to inaugurate the DNC Institute for Health Sciences Research and Training, a facility with 25,000 square meters of floor space and an investment of approximately 600 billion VND in infrastructure and equipment for health sciences education and research. In the fourth quarter of 2024, DNC will commence the second phase of Nam Can Tho University Hospital, a 20-story building with over 55,000 square meters of floor space, and a total investment of around 1.5 trillion VND, expected to be completed and operational by the second quarter of 2027.
