On December 12, 2025 — a significant milestone affirming its position and educational quality — Nam Can Tho University (DNC) officially joined the group of outstanding higher education institutions recognized by the prestigious international ranking organization QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) with a 4-Star Rating. Notably, DNC is among the pioneering universities in Vietnam to be evaluated under the newest and most rigorous standards, QS Stars 6.0, updated in 2024. 

This achievement stands as a testament to the University’s remarkable development and its unwavering commitment to continuously enhancing the quality of education, research, and services, strengthening its position on the regional and international higher education landscape. It is regarded as a historic milestone — the result of a steadfast journey marked by strategic investment, comprehensive innovation, and deep international integration over the years. 

QS 4-Star Certificate — A testament to the outstanding educational quality of Nam Can Tho University

The QS Stars system is a comprehensive evaluation framework that assesses universities across multiple rigorous criteria rather than relying on a single overall ranking. Unlike traditional league tables, the QS Stars rating conducts in-depth assessments using a scientific methodology to “score” universities on more than 50 indicators across 8 to 12 key categories. Achieving a 4-Star rating under the latest QS Stars 6.0 framework demonstrates that DNC not only meets but exceeds contemporary international education standards.

In this evaluation, Nam Can Tho University achieved perfect scores (5 stars) in several criteria, most notably in Teaching and Online Learning — two key pillars that reflect the institution’s internal strength and adaptability in the digital era.

• 5 Stars for Teaching: This represents the highest level of recognition for the University’s faculty, who possess strong academic expertise and employ modern, learner-centered pedagogical approaches. An optimal lecturer-to-student ratio, close integration of theory and practice through projects and case studies, and an effectively operated teaching quality assurance system form the foundation of this achievement.
• 5 Stars for Online Learning: DNC affirms its pioneering position in educational digital transformation. A smart and user-friendly Learning Management System (LMS), a rich digital learning resources repository, and flexible hybrid teaching methods have created a borderless learning environment, ensuring quality comparable to face-to-face instruction while meeting global trends and the diverse needs of learners.

In addition, the University also achieved perfect scores in several other criteria, including Social Impact, Effective Governance, and Employability. Notably, the Medical program at Nam Can Tho University was also awarded a 3-Star QS Stars rating at the program level - representing a solid and promising start for the future breakthrough development of this key academic discipline at DNC.
