On the morning of September 4, 2025, Nam Can Tho University participated in the online seminar “Application of AI in Curriculum Design and Course Development”, organized by the Center for Educational Quality Accreditation – Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar was connected from multiple locations, including the online conference room at Block E – Nam Can Tho University, with the participation of the university’s leaders, staff, and lecturers.
Right from the beginning, the seminar at Nam Can Tho University took place in an open and engaging atmosphere. Attending the event were Dr. Nguyen Van Quang – Party Committee Secretary and Rector of Nam Can Tho University, Dr. Tran Thi Thuy – Vice Rector, along with leaders of various departments and a large number of lecturers. Their presence demonstrated the University’s commitment and support in embracing and applying new trends in higher education. The program then moved into its main session with keynote presentations, offering valuable knowledge and fresh perspectives on the application of AI in education.

The keynote presentation was delivered by Dr. Vu The Dung – Founder & CEO of Thinking School, former Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, VNU-HCM, with the topic “Transforming AI from an Assistant into a Senior Colleague.” The speaker introduced the LCCA formula – a model that enables AI to serve as a companion tool for lecturers in curriculum design. Through a case study at Thinking School, he demonstrated the strong potential of AI applications in developing modern, flexible, and practice-oriented academic programs.

The discussion session that followed was lively, with many contributions from delegates across different locations, including lecturers from Nam Can Tho University. The comments mainly focused on how to apply AI effectively while ensuring that teachers remain at the center of the learning process, as well as maintaining scientific rigor and objectivity in curriculum design. The seminar concluded with a closing summary and an online commemorative photo session, capturing meaningful moments and affirming the success of the event.
With the message “AI is a colleague, not just a tool,” the seminar left a strong impression, opening opportunities for collaboration and experience-sharing among educational institutions. At the same time, the event once again affirmed Nam Can Tho University’s pioneering role in embracing innovation, creativity, and digital-era adaptability in higher education
