Online Education News – According to Nam Can Tho University (DNC), for the first time in its history, the university has officially been listed and ranked 11th among the Top 16 Vietnamese universities meeting international standards, as recognized by the prestigious THE Impact Rankings 2025.
THE Impact Rankings is a global ranking released annually by Times Higher Education (the United Kingdom). It assesses higher education institutions worldwide based on their performance in achieving the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), introduced in 2016. These criteria not only measure academic excellence but also reflect the university's positive impact on society, the environment, and the global community. Inclusion in the rankings is a testament to an institution’s commitment and capacity to implement sustainable development, not only at the national level but also internationally, through initiatives that promote human development, social equity, and environmental protection. To date, thousands of universities from over 100 countries and territories have voluntarily participated in the THE Impact Rankings.
National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn signed the university’s golden guestbook during his visit to DNC on the occasion of the university’s 12th anniversary (January 25, 2013 – January 25, 2025).
Vietnam currently has 16 higher education institutions featured in THE Impact Rankings, with Nam Can Tho University (DNC) ranked 11th. This achievement is not only a significant milestone for the DNC but also a global recognition of the tireless efforts of its faculty, students, and leadership in pursuing educational excellence, community contribution, and sustainable development aligned with the UN’s SDGs. Beyond its official integration into the global educational landscape as one of Vietnam’s Top 11 universities, DNC is also proud to rank among the Top 3 in specific categories, such as Good Health and Well-being (SDG3), Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG6), and Top 4 in Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17).
