The American Accreditation Commission International (AACI) – one of the world’s leading organizations in healthcare quality accreditation and clinical excellence certification – has officially announced that Nam Can Tho University Hospital achieved 92.16% of the total AACI quality assessment score, thereby being officially awarded the AACI International Quality Accreditation, a prestigious global certification standard from the United States.
AACI is headquartered in the United States, with a network of offices in several countries such as the United Kingdom, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Singapore, and Japan. Since 2014, AACI has implemented a set of accreditation standards recognized by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) – regarded as one of the most prestigious quality systems in the world. These standards are widely applied across various healthcare sectors, including hospitals, dental clinics, primary healthcare, outpatient services, and physical therapy.
Previously, during their working visit to Can Tho, the Official AACI Accreditation Team conducted an on-site assessment of all departments, divisions, and centers of Nam Can Tho University Hospital through observation, interviews, discussions, and the review of professional records.

The results showed that the hospital had achieved remarkable accomplishments in quality management. The Accreditation Team also provided constructive recommendations for the hospital to further improve its systems and ensure sustainable development.
Mr. Naphatsinth Sinthoon, Head of the AACI Accreditation Team, highly commended the professional cooperation, thorough preparation, and continuous efforts of Nam Can Tho University Hospital in building and improving its quality management system in accordance with international standards.
The AACI delegation particularly recognized the hospital’s outstanding efforts in standardizing management and operational procedures, enhancing professional competence, strengthening staff training, and providing comprehensive patient care. Key criteria such as patient safety, quality control, and a compassionate healthcare service culture were rated at a high level, reflecting the hospital’s strong commitment to quality and patient satisfaction.

Prof. Dr. Dam Van Cuong, Director of Nam Can Tho University Hospital, the hospital has continuously invested in staff training, standardized operational procedures, strengthened quality control, and improved service delivery to comprehensively meet AACI’s rigorous standards.
