DNC - On March 17, 2025, Nam Can Tho University hosted a meeting with representatives from the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to discuss expanding collaborative opportunities in medical and pharmaceutical education and research.
Dr. Vipra Pandey, Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Mahesh Chand Giri, Consul, and other delegates represented the Indian Consulate. From Nam Can Tho University, participants included Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Chairman of the University Council; Associate Professor Dr. Dao Duy Huan and Dr. Tran Huu Xinh, Vice Rectors; as well as senior faculty and administrative leaders.

The discussions focused on building strategic partnerships in education and research, particularly in the medical and pharmaceutical fields, while enhancing academic connections between students and faculty from both nations. The Indian Consulate proposed establishing cooperative relationships between Nam Can Tho University and the University of Delhi along with other top educational institutions in India, pledging full support to achieve sustainable and mutually beneficial initiatives.

The Indian delegation highlighted challenges Indian students face in pursuing medical and pharmaceutical studies due to stringent entry requirements back home. Given Nam Can Tho University’s strong academic reputation, the university is viewed as an attractive academic destination, offering Indian students valuable opportunities to advance their education and careers in healthcare.
The meeting concluded with significant optimism, marking an important step forward in strengthening Nam Can Tho University’s international relationships and fostering educational exchange between Vietnam and India.

Following the discussions, attendees enjoyed a special screening of two blockbuster Bollywood films organized by the Consulate General of India. This cultural event, hosted at Nam Can Tho University for the first time, delighted not only students but also film enthusiasts from the broader community, sharing Bollywood’s vibrant celebration of life, love, and the joy of living each moment fully.
