On July 20, 2025, Nam Can Tho University (DNC) solemnly held the Graduation Ceremony for the second cohort of Medical Doctors (academic years 2019–2025), along with new Pharmacists and Technicians in Medical Laboratory Technology and Medical Imaging Technology, at Hall D. The event marked an important milestone, recognizing the academic achievements and training efforts of more than 500 students in the health sector, while affirming DNC’s position in training high-quality healthcare professionals for the Mekong Delta region.

The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with the participation of numerous leaders, distinguished guests, parents, and students. The University’s Academic and Pedagogical Council, including Dr. Lawyer Nguyễn Tiến Dũng – Chairman of Nam Can Tho University Council, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Quang – Rector of Nam Can Tho University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phillip Tran – Director of the DNC Health Science Institute and Dean of NCTU International Medical Faculty, along with members of the University Council, the Board of Directors, and Head of departments, faculties, institutes, and affiliated centers, were present to witness and confer degrees to the graduates. The presence of People’s Physician Prof. Dr. Phạm Như Hiệp, Director of Hue Central Hospital, along with representatives from hospitals, medical centers, and partner enterprises, further enhanced the significance of the event.

At this meaningful ceremony, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Quang – the University’s Rector – delivered a congratulatory speech, recognizing the efforts of the new graduates and emphasizing DNC’s role in training high-quality healthcare professionals. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phillip Tran, with an extensive record of achievements in international medicine, offered heartfelt encouragement, urging the graduates to uphold medical ethics and continuously learn to develop themselves and contribute to the community. Representing the students, newly graduated Doctor Phan Hoàng Sơn delivered a bilingual speech (English – Vietnamese), expressing gratitude to the University, faculty, and families, while pledging to maintain medical ethics, uphold the responsibilities of a physician, and dedicate himself to improving public health.
The highlight of the ceremony was the awards segment, honoring outstanding graduates who achieved excellent academic results and exemplary performance throughout their studies. These honored graduates not only demonstrated academic excellence but also actively participated in community activities, contributing to enhancing the image of DNC students.
In addition, the university announced policies encouraging graduates to pursue master’s degrees and advanced studies through various scholarship programs for DNC alumni, such as postgraduate scholarships.
The graduation ceremony was conducted with great solemnity, featuring the participation of the Academic Council members and leading faculty experts. Each graduate received their diploma from the professors, accompanied by warm handshakes and meaningful commemorative photographs. The event concluded with heartfelt thanks from the Organizing Committee to the leadership, parents, faculty, and supporting units, especially the media agencies that covered the ceremony.
