On the morning of September 26, 2025, Nam Can Tho University held a solemn and meaningful reception for the delegation from the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City. The event took place at the Yersin Meeting Hall – DNC Health Science Institute, marking a new milestone in educational and cultural exchange between the two countries.

As part of the welcoming ceremony, Ms. Miyachi Orie shared the significance of the READ JAPAN PROJECT – an initiative launched in May 2024, aimed at introducing a collection of selected books to help Vietnamese students access international knowledge about Japan. After months of close collaboration with the DNC Library, the book list was carefully curated and officially presented this morning.

The highlight of the event was the handover of 65 books and a Certificate of Acknowledgment from the Consulate General of Japan to Dr. Trần Thị Thùy, Vice Rector of Nam Can Tho University. This solemn moment was captured in commemorative photos, reflecting the close cooperation between the university and its international partner. The donated books not only enrich the library’s collection but also provide valuable resources for international students at DNC to access reliable information and improve their English proficiency.

The DNC Library is a vital academic hub of the university. In recent years, it has continuously innovated and modernized its facilities to best serve students. The reading space is designed to European standards, creating a comfortable and professional learning environment. In addition, the Library actively receives English book donations from various organizations, including the “Vo Ta Han Book and Scholarship Fund.” Notably, during the first book distribution in 2025 (September 15–19, 2025), the DNC Library received 81 original English titles from this fund.

The DNC Library is committed to effectively managing and utilizing this valuable collection while continuing its efforts to build a modern, internationally connected learning environment.
