Sustainable development is not only a long-term goal of modern society but also a core orientation embedded in the educational, training, and community service activities of Nam Can Tho University. Under the guidance of the Youth Union and the Vietnam National Union of Students of Nam Can Tho University, together with exemplary clubs such as the Youth Club and the Little Green Sprouts Club, DNC students have been actively implementing numerous meaningful volunteer activities. These initiatives help spread humanitarian values, protect the environment, and contribute toward sustainable development
The voluntary blood donation activities are regularly organized at Nam Can Tho University, attracting strong participation from students, staff, and lecturers. This meaningful humanitarian initiative helps replenish the precious blood supply for emergency care and treatment, while also educating students about compassion, social responsibility, and the value of giving—contributing to a more sustainable and caring society.

The Green Summer Campaign is a key volunteer program of DNC students, implemented in many disadvantaged localities. Through this campaign, students support new rural development, promote environmental protection, care for public spaces, organize summer activities for children, and assist local residents. Beyond delivering practical benefits to the community, the campaign also helps students develop skills, foster a spirit of service, and strengthen their sense of civic responsibility.

DNC students actively take part in waste collection and environmental cleanup activities at the university campus, residential areas, riverbanks, beaches, and public spaces. These efforts help raise environmental awareness, reduce waste, and promote a green, clean, and sustainable lifestyle, while also spreading a strong message of responsibility toward nature within the wider community.
The “Mid-Autumn Festival for Children” program and related activities with children are highlights in DNC students’ community service initiatives. By organizing festive nights, giving lanterns and gifts, and hosting games, students bring joy and warmth to children-especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds—helping nurture hope, trust, and a more complete childhood.
The Mam La Nho Club brings together students with compassionate hearts, dedicated to supporting orphans and children in especially difficult circumstances. The club regularly organizes visits, gift-giving activities, meal support, learning assistance, and meaningful programs such as Meals of Love and Sharing Tet. Though simple, these gifts carry deep care and warmth, helping children feel the love, support, and companionship of the community.

DNC students take part in social welfare assistance, community healthcare, environmental protection, life-skills education, and support for local residents. The campaign provides a practical environment for students to grow, cultivate a strong sense of responsibility, and affirm the vital role of youth in sustainable development.

The volunteer programs of DNC students have also expanded to the Central Highlands and Tho Chau Island, where living conditions and access to social services remain limited. In these areas, students organized gift-giving activities, provided essential supplies, and engaged with local residents and children-helping to ease hardships, uplift spirits, and spread the image of DNC students as responsible, compassionate, and dedicated to serving the community.
