NEWS - 21 Tháng 10, 2024

DNC – On the morning of October 20, 2024, Dr. Lawyer Nguyen Tien Dung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nam Can Tho University, led a distinguished delegation to the United States, accompanied by key leaders from the university.

Joining the delegation were Associate Professor Dr. Phillip Tran, Head of the International Medical Department; Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Nguyen, Academic Director of the International Medical Department; Ms. Do Bach Tuyet; and Mr. Nguyen Tri Dat, members of the Board of Directors. The purpose of this mission was to survey and select a location for establishing the second campus of Nam Can Tho University in the United States.

This second campus is envisioned to transcend the role of a mere representative office; it will develop into a vibrant hub for learning, internships, and working for both faculty and students of Nam Can Tho University in the USA. It will serve as a pivotal center for forging connections with esteemed professors and universities across America, fostering rich international collaborations in teaching and research, particularly in the realms of Continuing Medical Education (CME) and international student recruitment. Furthermore, this campus will proudly function as the U.S. office for the DNC Medical Journal, creating abundant opportunities for academic exchange and global research collaboration.

During this impactful mission, the delegation engaged with architect Ricky Kimery, local officials, and engineers in the United States to meticulously craft a comprehensive plan for the design and construction of the building. This collaborative endeavor highlights Nam Can Tho University's unwavering commitment to establishing a state-of-the-art facility that will elevate educational opportunities and amplify its global presence in the field of medical education.

The establishment of the second campus in the United States stands as a cornerstone of Nam Can Tho University's ambitious internationalization strategy aimed at integrating cutting-edge educational models into its training programs. This campus will not only offer invaluable opportunities for students and faculty to immerse themselves in world-class educational systems but will also epitomize the university's steadfast dedication to enhancing educational quality and fostering meaningful integration.

Anticipated to play a vital role in reinforcing Nam Can Tho University's presence and prestige in the United States, the second campus will create a robust bridge between Vietnamese education and developed nations, particularly within the medical field. By nurturing collaboration and knowledge exchange, this campus will significantly contribute to the continuous advancement of medical education and research, further solidifying the university's position as a regional leader.
