On October 17, 2025, Nam Can Tho University hosted The 2nd International Conference on the Emerging Industrial Revolution (ICEIR 2025) under the theme “The Contemporary Industrial Revolution – Digital Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, and Sustainable Development in Education.” The event brought together more than 150 delegates, including scientists, experts, and lecturers from universities, research institutes, and educational organizations in Vietnam, as well as participants from India, South Korea, and Malaysia.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang, Rector of Nam Can Tho University, emphasized the importance of strengthening international academic cooperation in the context of rapid digital transformation. He noted that the conference provides an opportunity to promote research activities, share knowledge, and expand scholarly networks among educational institutions.

Within the framework of the conference, Nam Can Tho University signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with four universities in India: Mahatma Gandhi University, VIT Bhopal University, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, and Symbiosis Institute of Technology. The collaborations focus on academic exchange, joint research supervision, co-organization of conferences, and enhancement of international publication capacity.

The conference received 82 research papers, of which 40 were selected for presentation and publication in the proceedings. The studies covered key areas in technology and education, including data science and artificial intelligence, digital transformation in management and teaching, information systems, communication networks, image and signal processing, and hardware and electronic engineering.
Parallel sessions held in the afternoon enabled researchers to engage in in-depth academic discussions, present new findings, and propose approaches to applying AI, automation, and digital transformation to socio-economic development.

ICEIR 2025 contributed to strengthening Nam Can Tho University’s role in international academic collaboration while enhancing research capacity and developing high-quality human resources in information technology and artificial intelligence, in response to the evolving demands of digital transformation in education and the labor market.
