DNC - Speaking at the signing ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Bac, Director of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, stated: “With the goodwill and determination of both parties, we will strive to provide support in expertise, professional skills, and training... so that Nam Can Tho University Medical Center can, in the future, become a model similar to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City in the Mekong Delta region”.
According to the memorandum of understanding signed on the morning of March 30 between Nam Can Tho University and the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, both parties agreed to provide professional and training support as follows:
The University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City will offer expertise and training for doctors, technicians, and staff of Nam Can Tho University Medical Center; receive patients for treatment; dispatch personnel to perform surgeries and procedures for patients of Nam Can Tho University Medical Center; and provide remote consultation and diagnosis for severe and complicated cases within the scope of its professional activities. Additionally, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City will support practical training for students, specialists, postgraduate students, and doctoral candidates studying health-related fields at Nam Can Tho University.

Nam Can Tho University Medical Center is a unit under Nam Can Tho University. After more than nine years of establishment and development, Nam Can Tho University has stabilized its operational system and invested in infrastructure, equipment, practical laboratories, electronic libraries, computer rooms, and modern teaching and learning materials to support education and scientific research. Currently, the university serves over 16,000 students and trainees. To date, more than 5,500 students have graduated, providing a valuable workforce for Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region.
