In the Environmental Resources and Management program at Nam Can Tho University, the integration of classroom theory and real-world experience plays a crucial role. This approach not only deepens students' academic understanding but also equips them with practical skills for real-life applications.
Recently, the class DH22QLT01 participated in a practical field trip combining two key courses: Marine Resource and Environment Management and Agricultural and Rural Environmental Management. The journey took students to the Institute of Oceanography in Nha Trang and high-tech agricultural production models in Đà Lạt.
At the Institute of Oceanography in Nha Trang, students delved into marine ecosystems, ocean biodiversity, rare marine species, and the harmful impacts of human activities such as overfishing, plastic waste, and climate change. Notably, they visited the marine specimen museum, home to many rare and valuable specimens. This trip not only expanded their professional knowledge but also raised awareness and responsibility toward marine environmental protection—an urgent mission as Vietnam’s marine resources face increasingly severe degradation.

The journey continued with a stop in Đà Lạt—one of Vietnam’s leading hubs for high-tech agriculture—offering students a clear view of the interconnection between agriculture and the environment. Here, students explored modern cultivation models such as greenhouses, organic farming, and advanced technologies applied in microclimate monitoring, irrigation, and crop nutrition.
In addition, students learned how local production facilities manage agricultural waste, reuse by-products, and apply biological methods to minimize the use of pesticides—an effective approach that contributes to protecting rural environments and promoting public health.

The combination of theory and practice during the trip gave students not only in-depth academic knowledge but also a chance to reflect, analyze, and assess the challenges and opportunities in resource and environmental management in Vietnam today. It provided valuable preparation for their future careers as contributors to a green economy and sustainable development.
The field trip was a great success thanks to the dedicated support from DNC Travel. As a professional provider of educational trips for students, DNC Travel ensured the entire itinerary was conducted in a scientific, safe, and effective manner. As a result, the journey became not just a learning activity, but also a meaningful, beneficial, and memorable real-world experience for class DH22QLT01.
