On January 7, Nam Can Tho University (DNC) officially announced the decision to establish the College of Law and Economics, marking a new milestone in the University’s strategy to expand multidisciplinary and multi-field education.
The establishment of the College of Law and Economics stems from practical demands in the context of international integration, digital transformation, and the growing need for human resources with strong expertise in law, economics, and governance. This move also represents a concrete step in implementing DNC’s long-term development orientation toward institutional autonomy, standardization, and international integration.
The College of Law and Economics is formed based on the inheritance of existing academic staff, facilities, and training experience of Nam Can Tho University. The College is responsible for education, scientific research, and knowledge transfer in the fields of Law, Economics, Management, Finance and Banking, Accounting, Business Administration, and related disciplines, with a strong focus on linking education to practical application and labor market demands.
Representatives of Nam Can Tho University’s leadership stated that the establishment of the College of Law and Economics reflects the University’s strong commitment to improving training quality and providing high-quality human resources equipped with professional competence, legal–economic thinking, and adaptability in an integrated environment.
In the coming period, the College of Law and Economics will prioritize the development of updated training programs, strengthen cooperation with government agencies and enterprises, and promote scientific research activities in service of socio-economic development.
