DNC - On October 20, 2025, in Can Tho City, Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper, in collaboration with the Can Tho Youth Union and Nam Can Tho University, solemnly held the 2025 “Tiếp sức đến trường” (Support to School) Scholarship Award Ceremony under the theme “One Aspiration – Thousands of Hearts.” The program proudly presented 72 scholarships to new students with difficult circumstances but strong determination from Can Tho, Ca Mau, and An Giang provinces, with a total value of more than 1 billion VND.

Attending the program, on behalf of the leaders of Can Tho City were:

• Mr. Tran Van Huyen – Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee;
• Mr. Tran Van Khoi – Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee;
• Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hue Chi – Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee;
• Mr. Le Van Dien – Member of the City Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee;
• Mr. Tran Viet Tuan – Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Youth Union;
• Mr. Le Minh Tuan – Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism;
• Mr. Nguyen Van Hien – Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training;
• along with distinguished leaders and representatives from various agencies, universities, and colleges within and outside the city.

Representing Nam Can Tho University were:

• Dr. Trần Thị Thùy – Vice Rector of the University;
• Mr. Nguyễn Trí Đạt – Member of the University Council, Deputy General Director of Nam Can Tho DNC Trading Co., Ltd., Head of the Construction Committee;
• along with esteemed leaders from the University’s affiliated departments and units.

The “Empowering Students to School” program is part of the long-term journey “For Tomorrow’s Development” initiated by Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper in 1988. After 37 years of continuous operation, with 615 organized programs, the total mobilized value has reached over 441 billion VND, supporting approximately 76,202 students. First launched in 2003 with only 27 scholarships, after 23 seasons of awards, “Empowering Students to School” has become a deeply humanistic symbol. To date, the program has granted scholarships to 26,523 freshmen, with a total value of more than 246.8 billion VND.

The success of the program was made possible through the important contributions of the Farmers’ Companion Fund – Bình Điền Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, Dai-ichi Life Vietnam – For a Beautiful Life Fund, Trần Gia Furniture Co., Ltd., and a large number of Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper readers.

In addition to the cash scholarships, the new students also received comprehensive support from the community:

•  Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd. sponsored gifts;
• Vinacam Study Promotion Fund – Vinacam Group JSC sponsored 5 laptops;
• Seinologix (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. sponsored laptops;
• The Vietnam–America English Center System awarded 10 free English scholarships.

This timely support not only helps ease the students’ immediate difficulties but also opens up opportunities for them to access modern learning tools and knowledge.

Each new scholarship recipient represents a touching story of perseverance, a passion for learning, and deep filial devotion. Many former students who once received support from the program have now grown, established their lives, and actively returned to help younger generations—further expanding the circle of compassion and sharing.

This was the seventh awarding point in the 2025 “Empowering Students to School” journey, part of the 615th installment of the “For Tomorrow’s Development” program organized by Tuổi Trẻ Newspaper. Each scholarship was valued at 15 million VND, with two special scholarships providing 50 million VND each, granted over four years of university study to the new students Dương Tiến Việt Hưng and Châu Huệ Mẫn. The program not only offered financial assistance but also equipped students with essential learning tools, including laptops and English scholarship courses, helping them build a stronger foundation for their university journey.

Although known by many different names, the program’s overarching goal remains the same — to promote education and nurture the young green shoots of the nation’s future. It serves as a bridge connecting thousands of compassionate hearts, affirming the power of sharing and social responsibility in caring for Vietnam’s younger generations.
