DNC - On the evening of September 10, 2025, at Hall E2 of Nam Can Tho University, the program “Southern Amateur Music in the Tourism Space” took place vibrantly and meaningfully. The event was organized by the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management – Nam Can Tho University.

Featuring a guest who has devoted more than 40 years to the field of Southern Vietnamese culture and arts. He is also the author of numerous valuable research works, scripts, and articles on Đờn ca tài tử, Cải lương, and the folk culture of the Mekong Delta.
He shared about the beauty of improvisation in tài tử music, the humanistic values embedded in each melody, as well as the role of this art form in preserving the cultural identity of the Mekong Delta region.

Not only focusing on the artistic aspect, the talk also opened up a fresh perspective on integrating Đờn ca tài tử into tourism activities - transforming this cultural heritage into a unique tourism product that offers distinctive experiences for both domestic and international visitors.

Students had the opportunity to directly exchange ideas with playwright Nhâm Hùng about integrating local cultural elements into tour programs, while also learning how to use musical storytelling to enhance the emotional value of Vietnamese tourism.

The program helped students majoring in Tourism and Travel Service Management gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between heritage preservation and sustainable tourism development. The live Đờn ca tài tử performances right at the hall created a warm and engaging atmosphere, fostering in students a greater appreciation for this unique traditional art form of the Southern region of Vietnam.

The program “Đờn ca tài tử in the Tourism Space” was not merely an academic seminar, but a bridge connecting knowledge and emotion — linking students to the cultural roots of the nation. Through the heartfelt sharing of Scriptwriter Nhâm Hùng, the event awakened pride, awareness, and the sense of preserving and promoting folk cultural values among the young generation.
This also stands as a testament to DNC’s educational orientation — integrating knowledge, culture, and practical experience to help students develop comprehensively in both professional expertise and character.
