Nam Can Tho University (DNC) pioneers in guiding its students to spread the mission of building a humane and sustainable community, where students not only pursue academic excellence but also become proactive contributors to social activities. With the spirit of “DNC Youth – Ready to Serve,” the university inspires students to actively participate in volunteer programs, ranging from environmental protection to supporting disadvantaged communities. DNC’s mission is to ignite a passion for service through practical, creative, and engaging activities—helping students grow personally while contributing to the creation of a better society.
DNC is committed to integrating social responsibility into all its activities, with more than 50 programs of various scales organized each year. Students are encouraged to take part in every stage-from selecting locations and coordinating with local authorities to planning, organizing, and managing volunteer teams
The heart of DNC’s social activities is Youth Month 2025, held in celebration of the 94th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2025). Student Union branches across the university simultaneously launched a wide range of volunteer programs across various provinces, leaving a positive impression of youth in the community. With a spirit of initiative, creativity, and responsibility, more than 1,000 students took part in environmental clean-ups, heritage preservation, rural infrastructure development, and social welfare activities, including donating gifts to disadvantaged individuals.

Volunteer teams visited households throughout Long Tuyen Ward to raise awareness, provide guidance, and assist residents in using the VNeID app to submit their feedback.

Read moreOn the morning of September 5, 2025, at Thoi Hung 2 Kindergarten in Hamlet 1, Thoi Hung Commune, Can Tho City, the Can Tho Student Association Branch of Nam Can Tho University coordinated with the Executive Committee of the Thoi Hung Commune Youth Union to organize the “Zero-Cost Gift Booth” program. Practical gifts such as notebooks, pens, colored pencils, school supplies, milk, cakes, and candies were handed directly to the children, helping encourage and support them as they begin the new school year.

Read moreIn response to the severe damage caused by floods and natural disasters in Central Vietnam, the affiliated student branches of the Can Tho Student Association promptly organized the preparation, sorting, packing, and transportation of relief supplies to support affected communities. At the same time, they closely coordinated with sponsors and social organizations to ensure that aid resources were distributed promptly, sufficiently, and transparently—reflecting the spirit of solidarity and social responsibility of DNC youth toward the community.
By 2025, all large-scale volunteer activities of Nam Can Tho University will be implemented in accordance with the Sustainable Volunteerism Guidelines, with the goal of expanding their application to all programs by 2030.
In the context of Vietnam facing increasingly complex social challenges, DNC not only contributes to addressing community issues but also inspires other organizations by educating a generation of students with strong social responsibility. Through this, the university reaffirms its commitment to “building a more humane society by spreading and developing the spirit of volunteerism,” while affirming its pioneering role in social responsibility education.
