According to Vietnam’s Education & Times Newspaper, the International Dormitory of Nam Can Tho University features more than 30,000 square meters of total usable floor area, rises 15 stories high, and is designed to accommodate approximately 2,500 students.
On January 16, Nam Can Tho University held a ceremony to mark the groundbreaking of the International Student Dormitory Project; celebrate the 13th anniversary of the University’s establishment; present international accreditation certificates including QS Stars 4-Star Rating and UPM 5-Star Rating; and announce decisions on the establishment of member colleges.
The International Student Dormitory is a key project within the University’s strategic plan to develop infrastructure, enhance service quality, and improve the learning environment in line with international integration. Invested in by Nam Can Tho University, the project is designed according to a modern and integrated model, meeting accommodation standards for both domestic and international students.
The project features more than 30,000 square meters of total usable floor area, rises 15 stories high, and is designed to accommodate approximately 2,500 students, with a total construction investment exceeding VND 550 billion. The dormitory is planned to be modern, safe, and student-friendly, fully integrating residential, study, and service spaces, thereby contributing to the development of a dynamic and civilized living environment within the University campus.

In conjunction with the groundbreaking ceremony, Nam Can Tho University also held a ceremony to commemorate its 13th anniversary (January 25, 2013 – January 25, 2026).

The University currently offers 46 undergraduate programs, 9 master’s programs, 3 Level I specialist programs, and 2 doctoral programs, in addition to bridge programs and part-time study options. Its current enrollment exceeds 23,000 learners, including more than 100 international students from various countries. In the 2025–2026 academic year, the University will offer 10 programs taught entirely in English.

At the ceremony, Nam Can Tho University presented the QS Stars 4-Star Rating Certificate – one of the most reputable international evaluation systems for universities worldwide, developed in the United Kingdom.
In this assessment cycle, Nam Can Tho University achieved outstanding results, earning perfect scores in multiple criteria, notably in Teaching and Online Learning.
Within the same program, the University was also awarded a 5-Star Certificate under the UPM ranking system by the Institute for Innovation – an academic benchmarking framework assessing universities in Vietnam and across the Asian region.

The University also announced decisions on the establishment of constituent colleges under Nam Can Tho University, including the College of Health Sciences; the College of Law and Economics; the College of Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence; and the College of Technology and Engineering. This marks a strategic milestone in the University’s development, reflecting its commitment to organizational innovation, enhanced governance capacity, and the specialization of academic disciplines in alignment with modern and internationally integrated standards.
According to University leadership, the establishment of these constituent colleges aims to consolidate resources, standardize governance, and improve the quality of education, scientific research, and applied practice. This initiative is designed to gradually develop flagship academic units with depth, distinct identity, and strong relevance to the evolving demands of the labor market and society.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Khởi, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, stated that the city’s leadership highly appreciates the comprehensive, in-depth, and breakthrough achievements that Nam Can Tho University has accomplished in recent years. In just 13 years of establishment and development, the University has continuously expanded its scale, diversified its academic programs, and steadily enhanced the quality of teaching, scientific research, and knowledge transfer. These efforts have enabled the institution to better meet the growing demands of the labor market and socio-economic development, positioning Nam Can Tho University as one of the most reputable private higher education institutions in the Mekong Delta region and nationwide.
The Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee expressed his hope that, in the coming period, the University will continue to uphold its spirit of innovation and creativity; further enhance the quality of education and scientific research; strengthen international integration; and continue to develop its faculty and infrastructure. He also emphasized the importance of accelerating the realization of the University’s goal to upgrade its institutional model, thereby living up to the trust of society and the expectations of learners.
