Education and Training (GD&TĐ) – On the afternoon of July 17, the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City held a conference to implement staffing work for its affiliated units.
Attending the conference were Ms. Tran Thi Huyen, Acting Director of the Department of Education and Training; Deputy Directors of the Department; leaders of the Department’s divisions and affiliated units; principals and vice principals of high schools; as well as directors and deputy directors of the Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers in the area.
At the conference, Mr. Le Truyen Thong, Head of the Personnel Organization Department (Can Tho Department of Education and Training), announced the appointment and transfer decisions of principals and vice principals of high schools, as well as directors and deputy directors of Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers in the area.

According to statistics, the city has a total of 1,232 schools, including 103 high schools and multi-level general education schools (92 public schools and 11 non-public schools). The city also has 3 provincial-level Continuing Education Centers and 27 district-level Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers.

In her speech at the conference, Ms. Tran Thi Huyen, Acting Director of the Can Tho Department of Education and Training, congratulated the principals and vice principals of high schools, as well as the directors and deputy directors of the Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers who had just received their appointment decisions.
She expressed hope that the management team, with a strong sense of responsibility, will perform their duties well; at the same time, support and contribute ideas to the Department of Education and Training in the upcoming period. The Department’s leadership and the collective of officials and public employees will listen to difficulties, recommendations, and proposals in order to successfully accomplish their tasks together.

At the conference, the Department of Education and Training organized a briefing on Secondary Education and Continuing Education, and listened to the feedback, sharing, and recommendations from principals and vice principals of high schools, as well as directors and deputy directors of Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers.
Can Tho City has a total of 1,232 schools. Among them are 382 preschools and kindergartens (330 public and 52 non-public schools). There are 850 general education schools, including 506 primary schools (501 public and 5 non-public), 241 lower secondary schools (239 public and 2 non-public), and 103 upper secondary schools and multi-level general education schools (92 public and 11 non-public).
After the restructuring and merging process, the Can Tho Department of Education and Training was allocated 161 civil servant positions. The total number of personnel assigned to the education sector is 42,076, including 41,388 officially appointed staff and 688 awaiting recruitment.
Can Tho City currently has 1 Center for Inclusive Education Support (formerly under Hau Giang province); 1 Pali Literacy Intermediate School for Southern Vietnam; 3 provincial-level Continuing Education Centers; 27 district-level Vocational Education and Continuing Education Centers; and 80 vocational education institutions.
