On the morning of January 22, 2026, at the Hippocrates Hall of the College of Health Sciences, Nam Can Tho University successfully hosted the International Scientific Conference themed “Trends in Research and Training in Nursing and Medical Technology in the Context of International Integration.” The event reaffirmed DNC’s development orientation grounded in scientific research and education aligned with the process of international academic integration, attracting numerous domestic and international experts and scholars.
The conference took place in a dynamic, in-depth, and open academic atmosphere, with the participation of more than 300 delegates, including renowned international scholars such as Dr. Edreck D. Estioko, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chi-Feng Su, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Vinh, along with healthcare managers, medical professionals from regional healthcare institutions, and NCTU faculty members and students. The program was conducted in a hybrid format, combining onsite and online participation, facilitating broad academic exchange. Discussion sessions focused on key topics such as improving patient care quality, laboratory quality management, and molecular biology.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Nguyen Van Quang – Party Committee Secretary and Rector of Nam Can Tho University – emphasized:

Following the opening session, the conference moved into the main presentation sessions featuring eight carefully selected outstanding research papers. The presentations focused on pressing topics such as improving the quality of treatment and patient care, laboratory quality management, and the application of molecular biology in diagnosis and treatment. International speakers including Dr. Edreck D. Estioko (Philippines) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chi-Feng Su (Taiwan) offered modern and innovative perspectives, while domestic experts such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Vinh shared practical experiences from Vietnam. The discussion sessions were lively, with active participation from delegates, contributing to the richness and depth of the conference content.
The workshop was not only a forum for academic exchange but also a multidimensional bridge for cooperation, opening up opportunities to implement joint research projects between NCTU and international partners. In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. MD Phillip Tran – Rector of the NCTU College of Health Sciences and Chairman of the International Academic–Medical Council, affirmed:
“The workshop has been a resounding success, featuring meaningful and highly valuable presentations. This serves as a strong motivation for NCTU to continue innovating and enhancing the quality of Nursing and Medical Technology education toward international standards, in order to better serve the Mekong Delta region and the nation as a whole.”
