DNC - On the morning of December 29, 2018, Nam Can Tho University hosted a seminar titled “Innovation in Teaching Methods and Improvement on Training Quality Under the Credit-Based System at Nam Can Tho University”, with nearly 100 delegates, including lecturers and academic staff from various departments and faculties within the university, in attendance.
The seminar was organized by the Center for International Cooperation of Nam Can Tho University, aiming to ensure efficient implementation and improvement in the quality and effectiveness of training under the credit-based system. It is furthermore intended to meet the needs for well-trained legal professionals equipped with both knowledge and competence, graduated from Nam Can Tho University.
Attending the seminar were Labor Hero, Prof. Dr. Vo Tong Xuan – Rector of the University; Dr. Nguyen Van Quang – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Tat Hien – Head of the Ship Engineering Department at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and leaders of various departments, faculties, and centers under Nam Can Tho University.

At the plenary session of the seminar, the delegates had the chance to listen to the presentation delivered by the Labor Hero, People’s Teacher, Prof. Dr. Võ Tòng Xuân - Rector of Nam Can Tho University, titled “Modern Teaching Methods Worldwide Applicable to Higher Education in Vietnam”. He presented insightful ideas of how applying advanced teaching methods can be so potentially practical and efficient in the context of Vietnamese higher education.”

Also during the plenary session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Long – Dean of the Faculty of Law – made a presentation titled “Several Aspects of the Credit-Based System in Undergraduate Education in Vietnam Today.” Ms. Than Thi Kim Nga, M.A. – Lecturer of the Faculty of Law – continued the Seminar with her presentation on “Enhancing Student Proactiveness and Engagement in Learning through the Integration of Presentations and Group Work.”
After the plenary session, delegates went on to Session 1: Economics – Society in Traditional Room 1, and Session 2: Engineering – Health in Traditional Room 2. In these sessions, delegates had the opportunity to hear presentations that contributed valuable insights to the ongoing innovation of teaching methods at Nam Can Tho University.

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Quang - Vice Rector of the University - on behalf of the university’s Board of Rectorate, emphasized, “This seminar is one of the significant activities with the objective of improving both the effectiveness and quality of training at Nam Can Tho University. I am delighted, grateful, and appreciative of the valuable feedback from the delegates. We will look into these opinions carefully and propose the best solutions to guarantee that students graduating from Nam Can Tho University will become highly qualified human resources, contributing to the overall development of society.”
