Within the framework of the international academic exchange program, the Smart City Strong Research Group, Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Nam Can Tho University, co-organized an academic exchange workshop at Hanyang University, South Korea, focusing on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Smart City urban management.

The workshop brought together representatives from prestigious universities around the world, including:

• The University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney), Australia;

• Durham University, United Kingdom;

• Hanyang University, South Korea;

• Nam Can Tho University, Vietnam.

During the workshop, scientists and researchers from the participating universities presented and discussed topics related to smart construction management and smart urban operation. In addition to academic presentations, the workshop served as a forum for strong research groups and scholars to exchange views on emerging research trends, share experiences in project implementation, and explore opportunities for collaboration in future international research projects and scientific publications.

Dr. Nguyen Tan Hung – Head of the Smart City Strong Research Group, presented his research paper.

At the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Tan Hung presented key research directions, initial research outcomes, and future development orientations of the Smart City Strong Research Group, with a focus on BIM applications in smart urban construction management and sustainable architecture. His presentation attracted significant interest and active discussion from participating scholars.

At the conclusion of the workshop, UNSW Sydney (Australia), Hanyang University (South Korea), and Nam Can Tho University (Vietnam) reached an agreement to jointly implement a research project on the application of BIM in construction management using 3D scanning technology and remote construction monitoring. This collaboration affirms the role and standing of the Smart City Strong Research Group of Nam Can Tho University within international research and training networks, while also opening up numerous opportunities for long-term and sustainable cooperation with reputable academic partners worldwide.
